The bartender’s staple, simple syrup, is a must-have for your mixology arsenal. It’s just equal parts sugar and water, dissolved together to sweeten up everything from lemonades to cocktails.

Ingredients

  • 150g white sugar
  • 150g Water

Steps

  1. Combine the water and white sugar in a saucepan.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally to help the sugar dissolve.
  3. Once the mixture is close to boiling and the sugar has fully dissolved, remove the pan from the heat.
  4. Allow the syrup to cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, transfer the syrup into your bottle of choice.

Notes

  • For the most accurate results, it’s recommended to weigh out your ingredients.
  • Alternatively, this syrup can be made by heating up water in the microwave, adding the sugar, and mixing until desolved.
  • For a richer simple syrup, use a 2:1 ratio of sugar to water.
