The Penicillin is a soothing blend of smoky Scotch, the bold spice of ginger, the sweet touch of honey, and a splash of lemon—creating a refreshing remedy that’s both comforting and revitalizing.
Ingredients
- 2 oz (60 ml) blended Scotch whisky
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) honey-ginger syrup
- 0.25 oz (7.5 ml) Islay Scotch whisky
- Candied ginger for garnish
Steps
- Chill a rocks glass in the freezer.
- In a shaker, add the blended malt Scotch whisky, fresh lemon juice, and honey-ginger syrup to the shaker.
- Add ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
- Double strain the cocktail into the chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- Float the islay scotch whisky on the drink.
- Garnish with a piece of candied ginger.
Notes
- using a mister, I enjoyed mising the islay scotch whisky in the empty glass then again on top of the drink.
