The Margarita is a classic combo of tequila, triple sec, and fresh lime juice—it’s a tangy, sweet, and salty delight that’s always a hit.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz (60 ml) blanco tequila
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) agave nectar
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) Cointreau
  • Margarita salt
  • Lime wheel for garnish

Steps

  1. Chill a rocks glass in the freezer.
  2. Cut a piece of lime and rub the open end on half of the rocks glass.
  3. Roll the rocks glass in the margarita salt to coat half the rim.
  4. In a shaker, combine the tequila, lime juice, agave nectar, Cointreau, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Add cubed ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  6. Fill the rocks glass with ice.
  7. Strain the cocktail into the glass.
  8. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Notes

  • A few drops of 20% saline solution can enhance the taste.
