The Tom Collins is a refreshing blend of gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and soda water—it’s a light, fizzy, and perfect hot summer drink that’s always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 2 oz (60 ml) gin
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) simple syrup
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) fresh lemon juice
- Soda water
- Lemon peel for garnish
Steps
- In a shaker, combine gin, simple syrup, and lemon juice.
- Add cubed ice and shake well.
- Strain the mixture into a Collins glass filled with ice.
- Top up the glass with soda water.
- Garnish with the lemon peel.
Notes
- This drink calls for Old Tom Gin. However, it works well with just about any gin! I used London Dry gin when making this.
- Maraschino cherry makes for a great addition as a garnish.
