The Martinez marries gin with sweet vermouth, maraschino liqueur, and a dash of orange bitters—it’s a sophisticated and slightly sweet cocktail with a rich, aromatic finish.
Ingredients
- 1.25 oz (37.5 ml) Scofflaw Old Tom Gin
- 1.25 oz (37.5 ml) sweet vermouth
- 0.25 oz (7.5 ml) Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
- 0.25 oz (7.5 ml) orange bitters
- Lemon peel for garnish
Steps
- Start by chilling a coupe glass in the freezer or with ice water.
- In a mixing glass, add gin, vermouth, Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, and orange bitters.
- Add cubed ice to the mixing glass and stir well for about 30 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into the chilled coupe glass.
- Express the oils of the lemon onto the drink.
- Garnish with the remaining lemon peel.
Notes
- If you do not have Fee Brother’s Orange Bitters, 0.25 oz may be too much for your cocktail. Try a smaller amount.
