A Basil Gimlet is a refreshing gin cocktail with a hint of basil. It’s easy to make and perfect for a summer evening.
Ingredients
- 2 oz (60 ml) gin
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) simple syrup
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) fresh lime juice
- 8-12 basil leaves
- Basil leaf for garnish
Steps
- Chill a coupe glass in the freezer.
- In a shaker, combine gin, simple syrup, basil leaves, and lime juice.
- Add cubed ice and shake well.
- Double strain the mixture into the chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with the basil leaf.

- I was using a rich simple syrup and it was a little sweep for me. Maybe use 1:1 or a little less. 2:1 might be perfect for someone who likes sweeter cocktails.
