Ingredients

  • 2 oz (60 ml) Gin
  • 0.25 oz (7.5 ml) Crème de Violette
  • 0.25 oz (7.5 ml) Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) lemon juice
  • Lemon peel for expressing oils
  • Cocktail cherry for garnish

Steps

  1. Start by chilling a coupe glass in the freezer or with ice water.
  2. In a mixing glass, combine gin, Crème de Violette, Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, and lemon juice.
  3. Add cubed ice to the mixing glass and stir well for about 30 seconds.
  4. Strain the mixture into the chilled coupe glass.
  5. Express the oils of the lemon peel over the drink by twisting it over the surface to release the aromas.
  6. Garnish by dropping the cocktail cherry into the drink.

Notes

  • This drink can be both shaken and stirred. I prefer to stir it as it results in a darker purple color.
