Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) cognac
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Cointreau
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • White sugar, for rimming the glass

Steps

  1. Chill a cocktail glass in the freezer.
  2. Cut a small piece of lime and use it to moisten the rim of the chilled glass.
  3. Pour some white sugar onto a plate, and roll the rim of the glass in the sugar to coat it evenly.
  4. In a shaker, combine the cognac, Cointreau, and lemon juice.
  5. Add cubed ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  6. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.
